Argon gas lasers have proven themselves for different applications. Their emission in the visible, typically at wavelengths of 488 and 515 nm permits to do flow cytometry, laser doppler velocimetry etc. Nevertheless, these outworn systems have low optical-electrical efficiency (< 0.1 %). The system consists of an Argon tube that need to be replace when the lifetime of Argon ions is reached. They need a cooling system by water because almost all the energy brought by the pump is transformed into thermal energy that must be dissipated.
Moreover, it is a complex technology that is likely to misalign and therefore requires regular verification and some time spent to make a rigorous alignment. Finally, in terms of ergonomics, these lasers are bulky (weight and size) and in terms of reliability and lifetime, their competitors are much better. However, they can be replaced by better technology : fiber laser.
Azurlight fiber lasers offer different wavelengths in the visible range (and ultraviolet) to meet the applications targeted by Argon lasers. The standard wavelengths of the VISIBLE series are : 488, 515, and 532 nm. We also conceived an Multi-Wavelengths product, with which it is possible to combine two of the three visible wavelengths.
Azurlight Systems offers all-fiber systems with a coolerless laser head that guarantee excellent spatial mode. The fiber technology is a real advantage : the systems do not need to be aligned. They are particularly well suited for rigorous applications as they have excellent power, pointing and frequency stability.
Azurlight Systems offers the best power stability in the market: < ± 0.3% in the short term and < ± 0.5% in the long term.
Azurlight systems also have a low noise level, which allows for better measurements.
